Closure of the 2010 Rating List…

The 2010 Rating List closed at 23.59 on the 31st March 2017 and the 2017 List went from “Draft” to “Full” status at that time.

Insofar as 2010 is concerned what exactly does “Closed” mean?

It means the following :

(i) We cannot make fresh appeals other than in the limited circumstances set out below;

(a) Appeals against Valuation Officer Notices (VON) made within six months of the notice.

(b) Appeals based on recently determines Court decisions, i.e. Monk v Newbigin within six months of the decision.

(ii) The VOA cans still backdate into the 2010 List in order to maintain an accurate end to that List by serving VONs. These must be served by 31st March 2018 and cannot be backdated further than 1st April 2015 as an absolute minimum.

(iii) Appeals made prior to the  31st March 2017 but settled afterwards will be fully backdateable either to the relevant date or the 1st April 2015 for appeals served after that date.
