Leigh Spinners, one of MUA's oldest clients, owns a Listed Mill with modern warehouse additions. It is one of finest examples of a double Mill building still remaining in Lancashire. Assessed at rateable value £245,000 at 1 April 2005, MUA obtained a reduction to £185,000, saving the client £129,000 over the revaluation period. Further savings have been obtained on empty parts of the factory through applications to the Rating Authority by MUA.

A client instructed MUA on their City and West End Offices. The West End office was assessed at £6,160,000 in the 2005 Rating List and following a successful appeal by MUA was reduced to £5,430,000, saving the client over £1.65m in rate liability over the revaluation period.

A University instructed MUA to advise on all aspects of rate liability on their property. An appeal by MUA on a rateable value of £375,000 resulted in a reduction to £171,500, saving the client an additional £50,000 on rates that already reflected charitable relief.
