A rent review on a food factory in North London tested MUA's negotiating and legal skills. Following a full review of the lease details, and agreeing that a cold store and other alterations to the factory should be disregarded, the landlord's Agents proposed a modest £25,000 increase on the current rent passing of £210,000. This was a five year review and in the landlord's opinion a very fair increase. MUA considered the increase excessive. The landlord eventually accepted MUA's evidence and a revised rent of £220,000 was agreed, a reduction of £15,000 on the landlords very reasonable offer.
